Rochester, MI Homes for Sale and Local Guide
The City of Rochester is a small, walkable city of about 13,000 people (2020 Census), roughly 20 miles north of Detroit and completely surrounded by Rochester Hills. Its historic Main Street includes landmarks like the 1849 cobblestone Rollin Sprague Building and the 1880 Rochester Grain Elevator, and every holiday season the Big Bright Light Show wraps downtown in roughly a million lights.
Two major rail-trails meet here: the Paint Creek Trail, Michigan's first rail-trail, runs 8.9 miles north to Lake Orion, and the 16-mile Clinton River Trail heads west toward Pontiac. Rochester Municipal Park sits in the heart of downtown. The entire city is served by Rochester Community Schools.
